Doctoral Programs

1. Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Communications
                Special qualification
                Apply for Doctoral Degree: The applicant must hold a Master's Degree or equivalent in any field endorsed by the
commission on institutions of higher education.
 
                1.1 Doctor of Philosophy Program in Business Administration
                                - At least 5 years work experience for Plan A
                                - At least 3 years work experience for Plan B
                                - Hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
 
                1.2 Doctor of Philosophy Program in Tourism Management
                                - An applicant must hold a Master Degree in any major with a minimum GPA of 3.25 (for thesis-based
                                masters) or 3.50 (for independent study or other non-thesis-based masters)
                                - Assessed on a per-application basis, including an attached research proposal (not over 1 page A4)
 
                1.3 Doctor of Philosophy Program in Communications
                                - Thai or Foreign Students must have listening, speaking, reading and writing skill of Thai language.
                                - Assessed on a per-application basis, including an attached research proposal (not over 1 page A4)
 
2. Faculty of Engineering
                Qualification
                - Completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a higher educational institution accredited by the Office of Higher
Education Commission (OHEC).
                - Never been previously convicted by final judgment of the court, except in the case of an offense committed through
negligence or a misdemeanor offense.
                - Never been dismissed from an educational institute due to any misconduct.
                - Without a serious health concern or condition as a barrier to education.
                - Other qualifications are determined by the Graduate School.
 
                Special qualification
                1.1 Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environmental Engineering
                - Received a bachelor of engineering in environmental science and/or engineering or related fields with equivalent
qualifications from the OHEC.
                - Provided at least two letter of recommendation from any instructors who had been teaching, senior project
supervisors, or superiors.
                - Provided a future dissertation topic with a future advisor
 
3. Faculty of Education
              1.1 Doctor of Philosophy Program in Educational Technology and Communications Department specific features
              - N/A
4. Faculty of Architecture
 

1. Doctor of Philosophy Program in Architecture
Option 1.1:

Research (48 credits), 3-year-programme.
Applicant can be Thai or international student with a master degree or equivalent qualifications in architecture or related fields.

Option 1.2:
Research (72 credits), 4-year-programme.
Applicant can be Thai or international student with bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications in architecture or related fields who received an equivalent of high distinction such as, First Class Honour, or at least a Second Class Honour First Division. The honouring system may differ depending on the system of the country of origin of the applicant’s degree.

Option 2.1:
Coursework (12 credits) and Research (36 credits), 3-year-programme.
Applicant can be Thai or international student with a master degree or equivalent qualifications in architecture or related fields.

Option 2.2:
Coursework (24 credits) and Research (48 credits), 4-year-programme.
Applicant can be Thai or international student with bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications in architecture or related fields who received an equivalent of high distinction such as, First Class Honour, or at least a Second Class Honour First Division. The honouring system may differ depending on the system of the country of origin of the applicant’s degree.

2. Doctor of Fine and Applied Arts Program in Art and Design
Master of Fine and Applied Arts Program or related subjects that are certified by the Commission on Higher Education.

 
 
5. Faculty of Humanities
              1.1 Doctor of Arts Program in Thai
              Qualifications:
              Open to  international students only  option 2.1  (Coursework and Research)
                            - B.A (Thai Language) or studied Thai language courses at least 18 credits
                           - M.A (Thai Language) or related fields (depends on the discretion of the Thai Language Committee)
                           - Be able to communicate Thai language (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
 
6. College of ASEAN Community Studies

Doctor of Philosophy Program in ASEAN Studies (International Program)
Program, Option 1.1
    1. Earning a pass mark of MSc/MA level in social science or relevant fields from an institution approved by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Thailand
    2. The application hold a degree not following (1), require three years of work experience in ASEAN context, Research and Development and Policy analysis and strategic management
    3. The applicant’s qualification is not belong to (1) and (2), the PhD. offer is depended on the decision of CACS admission committee
    4. Research statement (proposal) should be a concise statement (2,000- 3,000 words, exclude citation) of the rationale for the proposal, the research questions to be answered and how you propose to address them.
    5. The applicant should have the qualifications follow the article 5 (The Qualifications of Applicant) in Graduate School of Naresuan University Regulation 2011
    6. For all applicant, it is necessary to achieve a minimum score in an approved English language test of the Graduate School’s English Language Requirements Policy.
Qualifications we accept
    6.1 TOEFL (Paper based) no less than 500
    6.2 TOEFL (Computer based) no less than 173
    6.3 TOEFL (Internet based) no less than 61
    6.4 IELTS (Academic) no less than 5.0 overall
    6.5 Cambridge Placement Test online no less than B2 (60-64)
    6.6 Other qualifications we accept the language test score from other institution tests of English which equivalent to TOEFL or IELTS
    Finally, the English score report is valid for two years since the report is certified.

Study Options 2.1 Thesis option not less than 36 credit hours with not less than 12 credit hours of course work (lectures on weekdays) (candidates must hold master’s degree)
Minimum Requirements for Graduate Admission to NU
- General Requirements
1. Candidates must hold a degree equivalent to Thailand Ministry of Education Affairs master’s degree
2. Candidates must not be convicted by any courts except for minor offense
3. Candidates must have never been expelled from any educational institutes
4. Candidates must possess physical strength and restrain from serious illnesses
5. Candidates must possess good mental health
6. Candidates must possess other requirements imposed by the Graduate School.
- Program Requirements
1. Candidates must have completed master’s degree in Public Health or Health Science such as medical science, dentistry, nursing science, medical technology, or any relevant degrees from registered educational institutes. Those - who are studying the final semester in Public Health or Health Science or any relevant programs, and who expect to complete the degree prior to the University opening day – are eligible to submit the application.
2. In case of holding master’s degree in other fields, candidates must obtain bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Health Science and have not less than five years’ experience in public health or related work.
3. Candidates who possess requirements not stated aforementioned are allowed to submit applications. Such applications will be considered depending on the discretion of the program management committee.

Admission requirements for Ph.D. students
Option 1.1 and 2.1 For students with Master’s degree
Applicants must have a M.Sc. degree, in the discipline of Medical Science or its equivalent. All regulations of the Faculty of Graduate School must be fulfilled.

Option1.2 and 2.2 For students with Bachelor’s degree
Applicants must have a B.Sc. degree, in the discipline of Medical Science or its equivalent. All regulations of the Faculty of Graduate School must be fulfilled.

College of Health Systems Management offers two major international programs for semester 2 of the Academic Year of 2016.
If you are planning to apply to join our MSc or PhD in Health Systems Management class starting in January 2017, you are
strongly encouraged to apply by Wednesday 30 November 2016. Submitting by this date will ensure you have the best chance of
being offered one of the last few places on the program and that you have sufficient time to prepare to join the class.

Doctor of Philosophy in Health Systems Management (International Program)
Ph.D. Health Systems Management Program is about improving leadership and management for a health system’s efficiency,
effectiveness and accountability in order to provide equitable quality services to patients and communities. A key aspect of
health systems management research is its interdisciplinary nature combines research methods and approaches
from several fields.
Educational Management Plan
Plan 1.1: graduation with PhD degree, study less than 48 credits with Thesis courses. Maximum 5 persons accepted (Study on
Monday through Friday).
             
Entry Requirements
General Qualifications

  1. Students are required to have a Master’s degree in Sciences, or Technological Sciences, or Health Sciences, or Social
    Sciences or other fields from academic institutions in Thailand or other countries approved by the Ministry of Education
    with GPA higher than 3.5.
  2. No record of court-ordered imprisonment except for a wrongdoing by recklessness or a misdemeanor.
  3. No record of dismissal on the grounds of misbehavior from any educational institutes.
  4. Healthy, with no diseases or conditions that may interfere with their educational obligations.
  5. Other qualifications as specified by the Graduate School, Naresuan University.
  6. If there is any inconsistent conditions stated in No. 1-5, it would be the authority of the Curriculum Committee to
    provide the consideration.

Specific Qualifications

  1. Students are required to have a Master’s or an equal degree in Sciences, or Technological Sciences, or Health Sciences,
    or Social Sciences or other fields approved by higher education institutes in Thailand or in other countries approved by
    the Ministry of Education.
  2. Students who graduated from other fields of study apart from No.1 are required to be experienced in working or
    researching in the field of Health Sciences or Social Sciences regarding health or health systems for more than 3 years;
    or have at least a published article in academic journals specific in the Naresuan University Regulations within
    previous 5 years from the day of enrollment.
  3. Students who are inconsistent with No.1 and No.2 may be considered by the Curriculum Committee of Health
    Systems Management.
  4. Students are required to write a concept paper about their interested research (no more than 5 pages of A4 paper).
  5. Other qualifications as specified in the Naresuan University Regulations for Graduate 2011; Title 5 Students Requirement.

 

 

                Tuition Fee
The price paid throughout the course is 600,000 Baht/Student (for Thai students) and 690,000 Baht/Student
(for International students)
Payment by instalments divided into 6 semesters in 3 years as below;
1st Year 1st Semester                   100,000               Baht;
1st Year 2nd Semester                  100,000               Baht;
2nd Year 1st Semester                  100,000               Baht;
2nd Year 2nd Semester                 100,000               Baht;
3th Year 1st Semester                   100,000               Baht; and
3th Year 2nd Semester                  100,000               Baht.
                In case that the student is unable to complete the program within the period prescribed and need to re-enroll,
the student has to pay 100
,000 Baht per semester.
