Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT) hosted the SEAHES conference. AKEPT is leading the development of higher education in Malaysia. At the conference, education leaders suggested that environmental factors are changing rapidly. The political, social, cultural, economic and technological resources are limited. The society wants university administrators with leadership characteristics in business management, educational administration, and human resource management who can build partnerships with the private sector and international networks. The process of developing leadership in higher education institutions must be speeded up.
Moreover, Professor Dr. Sujin Jinayhon concluded that Thailand should set the guideline for the development of higher education. It is especially important that the leaders of higher education are systematic and prepare the executive directors, vice presidents, deans and directors in the level of the faculty, so they are strong leaders who understand the system of higher education leadership to create a competitive advantage with acceptance and cooperation from other countries.
