Naresuan University Students, Who Became Young Thai Science Ambassadors For The Year 2017,
Are To Participate In Communicative Activities in Germany

The IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, an event held on the 17thAugust 2017 in collaboration with the Goethe Institute Thailand, True Vision Group Co. Ltd. and the Science Association of Thailand, opened the gateway to three award-winning NU science students to represent Thailand as Science Ambassadors for the year 2017.  These students received scholarships to participate in science-related communicative activities in Germany. It should be emphasized that the Young Thai Science Ambassador (YTSA) programme is advocated by the National Museum of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Thailand under the patronage of His Majesty the King, and thus, a great honor to the university.

The nationwide selection process involved shortlisting 11 out of 46 teams that participated in the science camp to do a final presentation in the science festival held at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center. Mr Poramate Kaibut and Ms Nurnadia Hayeemakeh from the Faculty of Medical Sciencewon the Best Science Communicator Award. The pair presented under the theme Mega crisis which discussed issues like population burst, food and water crisis, energy crisis, and climate change.  Ms. Kallayanut Ulit from the Faculty of Engineering won the Outstanding Scientist Award.

The chosen representatives are going to Germany in May 2018. It is certain that this is a good opportunity to create a network for Thai youths to emerge as leaders who will advocate scientific knowledge in future.
