Naresuan University was honoured to welcome Pol. Col. Kuenzang Rinzin, Minister from the Embassy of Bhutan in Bangkok who proposed to visit the university to bestow gifts graciously offered by His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck to Honorary Prof. Dr. Kanchana Ngourungsi, Acting President of Naresuan University, and to meet representatives from Faculties/Schools and Bhutanese students currently studying at the university.  Presently, there are 38 Bhutanese students enrolled in several degree programmes; almost of of them is under the patronage of Kings scholarships.

Bhutanese students sit in the first place in international students head count when categorised by countries of origin following closely by Cambodia and Indonesia.  This reflected close cooperation between the Kingdom of Bhutan, through Youth Welfare and Education Office and Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC), and Naresuan University for over a decade, and a visit of the Minister productively strengthened this concrete international tie.

This official meeting occurred on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11.00 a.m. at Salao Room 1, Office of the President.
