To commemorate His Majesty the late King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej, the executive board of Naresuan University, together with its students and staff, planted 10 000 marigold plants along the road from the main gate of the university to the monument of King Naresuan. By doing so, the university as a whole expressed its condolence on the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. It is expected that the marigolds will bloom in the last week of October for the royal cremation ceremony.

Marigold, the flower not only symbolizes the veneration of the death but also symbolizes the beauty and warmth of the rising sun. By offering these flowers, the university wishes to thank the late King for the sacrifices he made with the message we will always remember and follow His Majestys insightful teachings.
